Dennis was one of the C language and UNIX creators.
Few people know about him. He was a valuable man.

In my opinions, there are at least three great things in C: stdin,stdout,stderr, 
and in UNIX, the lack of graphical interface.
OS must take care of hardware, memory, processes, and not of cosmetics. 
Without a GUI, they have made UNIX easy to port to many architectures. That is POSIX.
You have to trust, your OS is doing what it has to do.
